Meet Sean Lumpkin of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Lumpkin.

Hi Sean, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was moving out of being a full-time musician and started my specialty coffee career at Meadowlark Coffee, where I worked for JP McKenzie. He taught me about the craft of coffee. From there, I fell in love with the artistry and science of specialty coffee and catapulted my way into the industry. I launched Till the Last Drop Coffee pop-up and catering in July of 2025.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say my experience has been both smooth and bumpy because of the limited reach of education in the specialty coffee world. There is a gap between people who can afford the education and training and people who just do it for the love of the industry. Finding spaces where the craft is taken seriously and made available for those committed to it has been difficult.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would identify as both a creative and hospitality specialist. I have a background as a contract musician, where I was able to learn and grow in different spaces. Over the years, I have worked in many restaurants where I’ve grown in my passion for true hospitality. I view this as seeing people where they are and being able to meet their needs. I’ve brought that passion into my experiences as a mixologist and barista. Through each cup at a time, I help create joy and community with every last drop. I am most proud of my experience winning The Barista League.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I would love to connect with other coffee lovers to host events and provide more coffee education for those dedicated to the craft. We can collaborate through projects and connections influencing the coffee industry. People can connect with me through Till The Last Drop Coffee website or by emailing me at sean@tillthelastdropcoffee.com
