Meet Tye Thompson of SweetPetiteLatrice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tye Thompson.

Tye, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
SweetPetiteLatrice was invented in July 2018, although it was contemplated in 2015. I recall being in the midst of a LVN program and I expressed to a good friend of mine that I was ready to quit and pursue a profession in aesthetics. My friend stated something to me that I’ll never forget, “You can’t just quit. You have to finish what you start.” Little did I know, those words were life-changing.

I finished the program, worked for three years, relocated to Houston, Texas in 2016 and now here I am running a business & establishing my brand, “SweetPetiteLatrice”.

SweetPetiteLatrice started by first perfecting my craft as a makeup influencer. Learning the in’s and out’s regarding the application of makeup (brow shaping, contouring, highlighting, etc.) I’m far from perfect, I’m still learning new hacks and tricks everyday. As I perfect my craft, I promote myself as well. Whether it’s my makeup artistry, online store, or just simply making a tutorial of my technique.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
SweetPetiteLatrice has not been a smooth road. In the beginning, I struggled with keeping my vision sacred and free from calamity. I presented my brand prematurely and became discouraged and hopeless once I realized people didn’t believe in me. You definitely have to have tough skin when pursuing entrepreneurship. Stay focus on your goals and maintain a prayer life.

SweetPetiteLatrice is a makeup influencer, makeup artistry and online business, with more to come. We specialize in having the best infamous lippies. They’re slowly making an impact on the world. It’s a brand created to embrace your definition of beauty, catering to you. In today’s society, you have to look or dress a certain way to be considered beautiful but SweetPetiteLatrice recognizes beauty in being extraordinary.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success by your level of happiness or satisfaction.

If you’re happy with where you are in life, including how you’re living, your income, your career, your day to day living arrangements, etc., then you are successful.

Honestly, I love change. I lose interest and become really bored when things are routined. I’ve been defined as an over-achiever. I rarely take the time to appreciate where I am, instead I’m always striving for something new, chasing a new goal, and planning on how to achieve my goals. Until those goals are met, I’m not satisfied, and therefore I’m not successful.
