Today we’d like to introduce you to Barry King.

Hi Barry, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
B.K. has loved movies, classic television, sci-fi and comic books since he was a young lad. In 1983 he studied acting & voice at the Birmingham Performance Academy in Alabama . From 1982-1983 he worked at AM 1560 WAGC in Centre, Alabama. In the late 80’s he began a long association with local independent production studios making many films. His work has ranged from directing, producing, writing and acting as well as voice-overs . From 2013-2015 he was at AM 1270 WYXC as ‘B.K. on the Radio.’ He’s been involved in radio for many years and has won several Gabby Awards and Awards of Merit from The Georgia Association of Broadcasters. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Biggest struggle was divorced parents at 9 years old. It was very hard on my younger sister and myself. We were latch-key kids after school while out Mother worked to support all of us.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Other than creative endeavors (acting, directing and radio/podcasting), I’ve also worked as a certified and armed security professional in the past.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Stability and a smooth life free of drama and major problems. My wonderful wife of 13+ years also makes me extremely happy.
