Today we’d like to introduce you to Bluff City.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Music has been a part of both of our lives since we were young. We both grew up singing and always had the vision of being part of a group one day. Years later, we both ended up in Atlanta and connected, not even realizing at first how close our families already were.
Once we started making music together, everything happened naturally. We began creating YouTube videos, covers and vibe videos that started gaining attention and going viral. Those moments opened doors for us to connect and work with people we grew up watching and listening to, and it showed us that what we were building could really become something great.
Since then, it’s been a journey of developing our sound, performing, creating records and continuing to grow as artists. Looking back at how everything came together, we really believe Bluff City was destined to happen.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road definitely hasn’t always been smooth. Over the years, we’ve experienced changes within the group and lost a few members along the way. There were moments when we had to figure out what was next for Bluff City, but the vision never changed.
If anything, those challenges made us closer and more determined. We’ve learned how to lean on each other, hold each other accountable and keep going even when things don’t happen as fast as we want them to. We’ve been doing this for a long time, so we understand that every setback is part of the journey.
At the end of the day, we’re still here, still creating, still performing and still chasing the same goal we started with, using our voices to make an impact and bringing that real R&B group feeling back.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are known for being a R&B Group/Duo.
What sets us apart is our harmonies and the conviction behind the way we sing. Growing up in church, it was instilled in both of us that it’s not enough to just sound good, people have to feel what you’re singing.
We feel like that emotion has become somewhat of a lost art in R&B. For us, it’s about real vocals, real harmonies and creating records that people can connect to. We also take pride in being performers. We want the live experience to hit just as hard as the record, from the vocals to the chemistry and energy on stage.
What we’re most proud of is that we’ve stayed true to who we are while continuing to grow. We’re not trying to recreate what R&B used to be, we want to take the foundation we grew up on and bring our own sound and identity to it.
What makes you happy?
Being on stage and recording new music genuinely makes us happy. There’s nothing like creating something from scratch and then getting on stage and watching people sing it back to us.
Outside of music, just being healthy, having peace of mind and being able to enjoy the blessings that come with this journey means a lot to us. We’ve been through enough to understand that happiness isn’t always about the biggest moment, sometimes it’s just being able to wake up, be ourselves, do what we love and not have to carry so many worries.
And knowing that our journey could inspire the next generation of R&B groups to keep going makes everything we’re doing even more meaningful.
