Rising Stars: Meet Tamara Clark of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Clark.

Hi Tamara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story has been shaped by rebuilding—more than once.

I lost my mother when I was 17, and by 19, I was raising two sons. At 24, I moved from South Central Los Angeles to Atlanta, determined to create a different life for my family. The road was far from easy. I experienced evictions, repossessions, financial hardship, and seasons when my children and I lived in hotels. There were times when I lost nearly everything, but I kept finding a way to begin again.

Professionally, I built a career in payroll from the ground up. I spent years working hard, learning the industry, and navigating moments when I felt overlooked or unsure of my own potential. Today, I’m a Global Payroll Director with more than 20 years of experience, leading payroll operations across multiple countries. I became a homeowner at 44 and created a level of stability that a younger version of me could barely imagine.

But reaching certain milestones didn’t mean my transformation was finished. After going through a divorce at 45, I had to rebuild again, this time emotionally. I began asking myself who I was beyond motherhood, marriage, my career, and everything I had survived.

That journey became the foundation for Transform With Tam. Through honest conversations, personal stories, humor, and a little coffee, I encourage others to recognize that they are not stuck with the story life handed them. Today, I’m focused on growing as a transformation speaker and creating spaces where people, especially women entering a new season of life—feel empowered to heal, rediscover themselves, and become who they know they are capable of becoming.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not a smooth road. Evictions, car repossessions, living in hotels, divorce.

Transform With Tam is a personal transformation brand built around one belief: you may not be able to change what happened to you, but you can decide what happens next.

Through relatable storytelling, speaking engagements, workshops, digital resources, and honest conversations, I help people recognize the patterns keeping them stuck, rediscover who they are, and give themselves permission to create a life that reflects who they’re becoming. My content focuses on healing, identity, mindset, boundaries, financial rebuilding, purpose, and learning how to move beyond survival mode.

What sets Transform With Tam apart is that I don’t speak from a place of having lived a perfect life. I speak from experience. I’ve rebuilt after financial hardship, career disappointment, divorce, and losing myself in the roles I played for everyone else. I bring honesty, humor, practical wisdom, and a little coffee to conversations that can sometimes feel heavy. I want people to feel like they’re talking to a trusted homegirl, someone who understands where they’ve been but will still challenge them to take ownership of where they’re going.

What I’m most proud of is the community forming around the brand. People regularly tell me that my content made them feel seen, helped them put words to what they were experiencing, or reminded them that it wasn’t too late to start again. That means everything to me.

I’m currently expanding Transform With Tam through speaking, workshops, partnerships, and resources such as my Rewrite Your Story: From Stuck to Unstoppable guide. Ultimately, I want the brand to become a trusted space for people who are ready to do more than talk about change, they’re ready to become.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that I can’t truly live while trying to live under other people’s expectations and perceptions of me.
