Ashley Foster shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Ashley, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
“I’m being called to step into a role I never imagined — being a nurse to my sick mother. It’s scary and overwhelming at times, but love pushes me past the fear. This season is teaching me patience, strength, and what unconditional care really looks like.”
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m DJ Mz A-Town — a DJ, promoter, and marketing visionary. My work is about more than just spinning records; it’s about creating experiences that people never forget. As a DJ, I bring energy, passion, and soul into every set, turning music into a journey that connects with the crowd on a deeper level.
But I don’t stop at the booth. As a promoter and marketing visionary, I’m focused on building platforms, curating events, and shaping the culture around music and entertainment. I love bringing people together—whether that’s filling a dance floor, spotlighting talent, or developing creative strategies to amplify a brand or event.
What excites me most is seeing the impact of that blend: the way sound, vision, and community come together to create something bigger than just a party. With me, it’s not just about music—it’s about movement, culture, and connection.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
“My mother saw me clearly long before I ever understood my own potential. She spoke life into me when I doubted myself, she reminded me that I was capable of more than I could imagine.”
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Sweet girl, you are enough — just as you are. Every setback is shaping you, every challenge is preparing you. Trust the process; you’re going to bloom beautifully.”
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
“Family and community — those are non-negotiable for me. No matter where life takes me, I’ll always protect the bond that keeps us grounded and connected.”
“My faith and my integrity. In a world that tests both every day, I stand firm in protecting those values no matter what.”
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
“I feel most at peace when I’m at home, just me, some good music playing, and the world tuned out. Those quiet moments recharge me.”
