Jada Johnson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Jada , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something that’s been bringing me joy outside of work is actually “living” as crazy as it sounds it’s just that , living in the moment, making memories , smiling , laughing , spending quality time with the ones I love the most , it’s no better feeling
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am JNicole and I currently run a successful braiding business named JNicoleExperience, I specialize in braids , hair growth , and all around promoting healthy hair .
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’ve moved into another phase of my life where I am learning balance , the me that I give to my clients is not the same me I give in my personal life , and I have to understand the difference , the professional me goes over and beyond for my clients , providing the hair , working late night or early morning , or simply just making everything convenient for them but I had to realize that , it’s business it’s transactional it’s literally my job because I’m being paid for the service and I found myself being that same person for free in people lives everyday around me and it’s draining when you receive nothing in return and I’m slowly but surely learning to turn that off
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My biggest fear has always been failure , I don’t like to fail , I tend to find myself second doubting myself, but lately I had to put all my faith in god and trust that he would never lead me in the wrong direction and every since I put that foot out on faith I’ve been figuring it out ever since
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Honestly my significant other , she’s very bright and I admire her imagination, she always seems to have a clear vision when I can’t fully see it , even if I have the idea it’s amazing how fast she can come up with another idea to feed it or elevate it as a whole , she constantly asking “what’s next?” Or “how can I make this better?” When she taps into her creative side it’s so natural to the point where I’m always all in
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I was to retire tomorrow , I’m pretty sure my customers would miss my work the most , seriously , my girls simply love my work , our bond is great and all but it all boils down to the way I make them look and how neat their braids are
