Summer’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Summer shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Summer, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I know with certainty that I am on a path. While it’s not completely clear, it continues to reveal itself one step at a time. The way forward often arrives in mysterious, almost magical ways. Learning to trust the journey—without needing to control it—is both a practice and a lesson in faith, with the quiet assurance that everything I need will appear along the way.

What I’m discovering is that as long as I devote myself to the work that feels like my calling, the path continues to unfold naturally. Synchronicities appear often, supportive people arrive at just the right moments, and things fall into place with little worry or effort. Embracing this trust and allowing the process to lead has become a profoundly beautiful experience, and it has shown me an entirely new way of moving through life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Just Be True was born from my heart with the purpose of reminding others how to honor and embrace the truth of who they are—their radiant, authentic spiritual selves. Each of us carries gifts, beliefs, and wisdom that make us beautifully unique. There is no need to question your essence or doubt your purpose. You are here, in this lifetime, to experience the wonder of your soul’s journey and to fully awaken to the magic of being true to yourself.

I am grateful to be in a season where so many beautiful projects are blossoming, each carrying its own unique excitement and energy. My first book, Embracing Your Inner Shadow: Moving Through the Storm and Finding Peace, will soon be available in bookstores through my publisher—a dream long in the making. I’ve also been welcomed as a teacher on Insight Timer, where my guided meditations are now available to support others on their spiritual journeys. And soon, I’ll be co-hosting a new podcast, Higher Vibration with Scarlett and Summer—a sacred space where spirituality gets real and the vibes stay high.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My best friend, Monica, saw my true self long before I ever did. She was the one who encouraged me to step onto this path, and together we began this venture. In 2019, not long after our first interview with Voyage ATL, she passed away. Monica was more than a best friend—she was my business partner, my soul sister, and my muse. She was a radiant light in my life, and even now, I can still feel her presence surrounding me, guiding me, and cheering me on from the other side.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For much of my life, the fear of uncertainty kept me from taking chances and stepping beyond my comfort zone. But everything shifted when, in April, I was laid off from my federal career of 22yrs. What could have felt like an ending became a powerful new beginning. Since then, I have been thriving—leaning into faith, creating, and making things happen in ways I never imagined.

Today, I no longer resist the unknown. Instead, I thrive in it. I trust that no matter where life leads, the Universe has my back—providing, guiding, and carrying me to exactly where I am meant to be. I feel more secure, confident and open to what comes my way. By living in this new reality stress and anxiety no longer rule my day-to-day I can take each moment as it comes with grace and gratitude.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am deeply committed to the lifelong journey of helping others reconnect with their true selves. As an intuitive teacher, I believe each person holds unique spiritual gifts and wisdom within, and my calling is to guide them in uncovering and embracing that truth. Whether it’s through teaching, writing, channeling, or holding space in community, I know this work is not bound by time—it unfolds as it is meant to. No matter how long it takes, I will continue to dedicate myself to creating spaces of healing, guidance, and empowerment, where others can step fully into who they are and live from that place of authenticity and light.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I were to lay down my name, my role, and all my possessions, what would remain is the essence of who I truly am—my soul, my light, my awareness. Stripped of titles and things, I am still presence, love, and consciousness. What endures is the part of me that cannot be taken away: the wisdom of my spirit, the compassion in my heart, and the connection I hold to the Divine and to all beings.
