Veronica Smith of Douglasville ga on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Veronica Smith . Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Veronica, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
The most surprising thing I’ve learned from my customers is… they really don’t know what they want ! lol they are usual all over the place when they place a custom order. They will give 20 examples and at the end they let me make the decision. I love it tho because they are excited for me ti design something special and unique and they can’t make up there mind.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Veronica from Atlanta Ga and I’ve been making custom jewelry for like 15 years now. It makes me feel so good to create something for someone to wear on there bodies. I’m a Autism mom my son Juan who is now 27 has Autism and that’s how my business started. I make some simple bracelets to say thank you to my supporters, that did the we walk for autism walk with me and made cash Donations to the cause.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My Mom! She was a strong single mom that raised 4 kids. She was very hard working. But always made time for us and she showed love with her food. She would make some of the most amazing dishes with so little. I get my creative side from her.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
A year ago I almost give up on my business. It was very slow I wasn’t getting any orders and I just mentally didn’t want to make jewelry anymore. I almost sold all my inventory. But something said no way no way you have come so far and you just keep going.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Family and friendship

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
When I create something special for one of my customers. Making my custom pieces is my peace.
