Today we’d like to introduce you to Janell Henry.

Hi Janell, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Janell, founder and project manager of Five Queens and a Dream (a curated retreat company). I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Panamanian parents. Dedicated my life to helping women who are moms and entrepreneurs brand themselves in a way that makes them relatable and authentic while creating a profitable business with Pink Giraffe Designs (my branding company). I strongly believe that health is wealth and you can’t have a profitable business or live a fulfilling life if you don’t take care of your mind, body and spirit properly.

At only 5′ 5″ I use to weigh 223 lbs at my heaviest and now 155 lbs, maintaining it off for the last four years. And then, Five Queens and a Dream was born, to have a place grounded in Wellness + Healing for the black community is most important these days. An outlet that’s not the gym, but an alternative to therapy, sign me up, please!!

As a curated retreat company, we travel up and down the east coast sharing holistic ways to healing our mind, bodies and spirit. Providing a full-day service to men and women who seek to live a more fulfilling lifestyle. One knowing you will leave learning new techniques to coping and healing traumas. Dealing with stress, depression, anxiety and so much more. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Any up-and-coming business will have its own obstacles to overcome. Ours was finding the right team to fulfill each other’s needs. One that mends so fluently, it’s like, it’s one body. When you have so many moving parts, the day of the retreat, we have to move in sync. And to be sync, you have to have some sort of divine connection. That’s what makes for a great place to be in and why the members would want to stay involved in the vision.

As you know, we’re big fans of Five Queens and a Dream. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
So yes, we are a curated retreat company but we are also multiple brands collaboratively working together to bring a vision to life. Five Queens and a Dream is a team of holistic healers who wants to cure the world of its ignorance to healing. We, as beautiful Nubian beings we should be healing ourselves mentally, physically and spiritually in a more natural way. Teaching people how to use what we have. How to get resources to things we need, to heal our inner child. In order to simply become our most authentic selves, which ultimately becomes our highest vibration which leads to great success in love, life and liberation.

We are a black-owned, black-managed, black-led, black healers, a divinely made company to start with. We are enriched with healers who have been blessed to share their gifts with others. Not just in the therapy aspect but in the age-old teachings as well. We love upon you even from a distance because long after we leave your area, you’ll still feel our presence.

The Brand will always be developing and keeping us grounded in wellness+healing our inner child. That inner child is whose going to take you places. As an adult, we stop being imaginative and stop dreaming because a lot of adults don’t speak about their childhood traumas and that’s not for Five Queens and A Dream to dig deep into we just want to scratch the surface with everyone we come into contact with. We love to collaborate with more people interested in taking a more holistic approach to healing, so we could help them become renewed.
