Life & Work with Kimburr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimburr.

Kimburr is an independent artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The 25-year-old was originally born in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of six Kimburr sang happy birthday to her aunt at that moment a star was born. Kimburr began performing at church, school choir, and other extracurricular activities. At the age of 18, Kimburr began taking Atlanta open mics to another level. She has performed and won placements with Mama management, worked with Camps giving organization, and even went to schools to speak and spread her knowledge with students. Kimburr’s music is about spreading positivity, love, and knowledge to younger and even older generations.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is a journey that teaches me more and more everyday. From learning how to prefect my craft while running a business alongside teaching me patients and persistence. It’s also taught me to be humble because as quick as it comes is as quick as it can go.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an independent singing artist from Rasta Rebelz my music drives from the Caribbean mixed with some trap, pop, r&b, and hip hop. I grew up listening to Bob Marley, sizzla, and I Wayne on one hand and on another I listened to rihanna, nicki Minaj, future and more. I’m most proud of not settling for less than what I deserve in the music industry. That’s what makes me I don’t desire certain things that society’s strives on. Vanity has become the new love language I’m here to make love the love language.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how people are unapologetically themselves here. Driving is terrible I mean, it just doesn’t make any sense why there is always traffic to get on the I 20 on both sides of the 75.
