Jada Wilson

I was born in Atlanta, Ga but raised in both Decatur and Thomasville, Ga. The core of the year, when school was in, I was in Decatur with just my mom and brother. My father chose to be absent, so my grandmother was very essential and impactful in my upbringing. Most summers and holidays my brother and I would stay with her in Thomasville, Ga , which is where both sides of my family are from. I attended DeKalb Elementary School of the Arts majority of elementary and middle school; 2nd-7th grade to be specific. When I attended, students graduated in 7th grade and from there you could audition and apply for the high school; DeKalb School of the Arts which was also a top high school in DeKalb county curriculum wise. Read More>>

I first stepped into real estate investing while balancing multiple businesses, but my interest truly took off when I realized the power of leveraging properties for long-term wealth. I started by learning the fundamentals—understanding markets, networking with seasoned investors, and studying creative financing strategies. From there, I made my first investment, which set the foundation for a growing portfolio of rental properties, flips, and strategic acquisitions. Read More>>

Before my days of stepping on Legos and answering endless “why” questions, I had a hobby—crafting. I loved making my own hair and body care products with simple, nourishing ingredients, spending hours researching and perfecting formulas. Eventually that passion expanded to home organization and decorating – I enjoyed creating a space that felt good to be in. Eventually life happened (as it does), and my crafting supplies collected dust for many years. Read More>>

As a little guy, my mom and teachers quickly noticed that I was quite the imaginative kid. Like any kid, I performed out these crazy little stories with toys, played pretend war with my brother, and would reenact all of Captain Jack Sparrow’s famous lines from the Pirates films. (That last part is probably just me.) All the while my grandfather was recording every little bit on his SHARP camcorder. Read More>>

I envisioned a place where people could access powerful, time-efficient therapies designed to reset the nervous system, reduce stress and anxiety, and lower inflammation—all in one convenient location. For years, I had dreamed of stepping away from corporate life, but as a single mom, financial stability came first. Now, at 48, with my daughters away in school, I knew it was now or never—the perfect time to take the leap and pursue my true purpose. Read More>>

Then, in March 2020, during the pandemic, my business took off—I was fully booked, with clients flying and driving from all over the U.S., including New York, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Indianapolis, Texas, and Philly. What started as a simple skill turned into a thriving business, and many of my clients have become friends. Read More>>

While studying the craft in acting classes. I later moved to Atlanta, Ga where I reside currently. My family and I moved right amid the pandemic so it wasn’t a lot of production companies or casting opportunities available. It was during that time I decided to create my short film. It was just me, my camera, and my lights. Although that film was not the best it gave me the confidence I needed to create more. So that’s what I did. I create 6 other short films. Three of those later went on to be submitted to film festivals where I have won multiple awards such as “Best Actress, Best Women Filmmaker, and Best Short. Read More>>

There were definitely challenges along the way learning new software, building my brand, and pushing through times of doubt but every step was worth it. I am the youngest of four children, born in Providence, Rhode Island, where the echoes of my family’s history still resonate. My father, a retired Navy veteran with over 30 years of dedicated service to our country, instilled in me the values of hard work, discipline, and unwavering commitment. My mother, shaped by the legacy of her own mother, passed down the core values that have guided me throughout my life: dignity, value, self-worth, and respect for others. Read More>>

I eventually let my contract expire and pursued college instead. I chose to go to Fort Valley State University where I ended up joining the modeling troupe. Royal Elite Modeling Troupe was truly a God’s send to me at the time I first encountered it. The people I met, the lessons I learned, and the confidence I built taught me that as long as I put my all into what I’m doing and be my full self (not trying to imitate anyone, but authentically me) no one could stop me. I was able to work on my walk, become less awkward around new people, and to pose in different styles. It truly helped me become the person I am today. Read More>>

Another major hurdle was the cost of photography equipment. I wasn’t making much at my job, and quality gear is expensive, so I had to be extremely disciplined with my finances—saving and reinvesting every dollar I could. On top of that, Augusta isn’t a huge city, and photography wasn’t as popular at the time, so carving out a market for myself took patience and persistence. Read More>>

My friend said “Chase you would be a fantastic model, like I see that for you.” I’m like “girl noooo, I’m too anxious and anxiety-ridden for that” She made me signup, and I got a call back to audition. I just knew I wasn’t going to make it. Audition day came, my nerves were so bad, the anxiety had me sweating. Once I got on that runway though, that fire instilled in me lit up and consumed me. I never felt so confident, and alive. I was one of the first numbers called, right after auditions, in front of the crowd. I was so proud of myself. Ever since then I knew that modeling is what I aspire to do. Read More>>

But my true journey into entrepreneurship began in 2019, when I created my own skin care line at 16 years old. I spontaneously created two facial scrubs in my kitchen and decided to sell them to my classmates. The feedback I received was nothing short of amazing. I went on creating my business name, Lexi Pure Skin. I expanded my product line, got great client results, and received a business scholarship. I knew I found my life’s purpose, so I decided to go to aesthetics school after I graduated high school. After becoming a licensed esthetician I decided to specialize in facials. I became a certified Acne expert by face reality skin care and became certified in treating multicultural skin by Michele Obama’s former esthetician, Joelle Lee. Read More>>

While Brwn Stock is no longer around, I was able to move forward and provide images that are now a premium collection on Adobe Stock and work closely with Shutter Stock, and I also produce customized stock for various authors and small businesses. I think what sets me apart from others is aesthetic. I have a background in fashion and beauty photography, so I bring that perspective when I am shooting my stock and wedding work. I want to capture a moment, while still keeping the image clean and sharp. In 2016 my mom called and mentioned that there was this cute building for lease in downtown Crabapple. I called the number from the sign and spoke to the owner who then agreed to show it to me and eventually lease it to me. Six months later Whitetail Bicycles and Coffee was born. Read More>>

During these exams, I was very intrigued and inquisitive about learning about how the animal body works, ways disease in pets can be treated, and what I needed to do at home to prolong Merlot’s life. After Merlot’s diagnosis, I gave her medications at home and spoiled her until her final days. The exposure I received from frequently going to the vet hospital and interacting with the doctors sparked my interest in veterinary medicine. I really wanted to be able to help other pets that were sick and also educate owners on how to properly care for their pet. Following Merlot’s death, I did some research and figured out what the requirements were to attend vet school, and that is how my path to becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine began! Read More>>

My journey into the world of event staffing has been anything but conventional. Before launching Cutting Edge Elite (CEE) in 2008, I faced challenges that shaped my resilience, adaptability, and leadership style. But through that hardship, I learned the value of emotional intelligence, human connection, and the importance of opportunity. Read More>>

Luckily, this time it worked out and I have been selling in Georgia for the past 10 years and have helped over 225 families along the way. As I immersed myself in acting, I realized something: I had my own stories to tell. The characters I played were incredible, but what about the stories I had lived, the lessons I had learned? Before I knew it, I wasn’t just acting; I was producing my own work, crafting narratives that spoke to people’s hearts. Read More>>

From a young age and due the premature loss of two family members to cardiac events, I recognized the link between diet patterns, health, and longevity. What we eat daily has a big impact on both how we feel as well as what’s going on beneath the surface we may not feel or recognize. In college I was exploring multiple career paths until I heard about what Registered Dietitians (RDs) do and that day I knew exactly what career I wanted to pursue: a career helping people make diet changes to feel better, do better, and live both more purposefully and longer. Read More>>

But as much as I loved performing, family came first. My husband and I made a decision early on: our children were our priority. So in 2006, just as we began to step into the world of professional puppetry, we chose to step back. We promised each other that once our kids were older, we would return. That promise stayed close to my heart as I quietly continued to dream, sketch ideas, and perfect my craft behind the scenes. Read More>>

Whether due to financial constraints or lack of availability in their area, the problem of inadequate nutrition can hinder a patient’s recovery process. Read More>>

From the beginning, our community was incredibly supportive, cheering us on as we brought characters to life. But we quickly realized that creating these magical experiences came with significant costs—costumes, supplies, travel, and training all added up fast. We needed a way to keep going without losing the heart of our mission. So, we introduced an optional donation system, allowing guests who visited us for free to contribute if they wished. Every little bit helped, and our community’s generosity kept us moving forward. Read More>>

I started going to auditions as soon as I got here! I hit the ground running. I finally landed a gig singing the national anthem for the Atlanta Braves. After that it motivated me to start getting in the studio. I wanted to focus more on my writing because I always wanted to put my life and my experiences in my songs. My determination landed me in the hands of multi-platinum producer of Hitlanders Antonio “Tizone” Street in 2018. We recorded my debut album “I am who I am”, which gave insight on a lot of the adversities that I faced as a plus size singer. I wanted to highlight my talents and not my size. There was also a season when I witnessed a great deal of religious trauma, which deeply challenged some of my fundamental beliefs about human nature and healing. Through those experiences, and many other, I’ve had to navigate uncertainty, pivot when needed, and continually search for my place in this work. I identify more as a free spirit in the world, so choosing a vocation that is centered on building trust over periods of time has made it hard to commit to a helping profession. It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road! Like any business, photography comes with its challenges. I first started my business in Texas while I was in graduate school, and it was there that I built my clientele. But when I met my now-husband and we got engaged, we decided to relocate to Georgia. Rebuilding my client base and establishing my name in a completely new state was a challenge, but it also pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. For most of my career I’d been a professional “do-gooder,” working for Atlanta-based international development and poverty-fighting organizations like CARE and Habitat for Humanity International. While the jobs I held were highly rewarding, I had a deep yearning to start something of my own. Initially this manifested as the wish to bring the literary arts into the social science field where I worked, and where the writing is often dry and technical. Organizations with social missions deal with both the beauty and tragedy of the human condition, and yet, they often write about it as though they are only writing for scientific journals. (I’m a writer, of fiction so it’s only natural I brought this lense to my work). Read More>>

So, like many others, I explored different paths. Fantastic article/interview with the up and coming Yo-Pro Joseph Lucido…how inspiring to read about a young man’s dreams in articulate fashion with clear vision and strong work ethics. A suggestion…you all should check back in on individuals you feature in a 2 to 5 years period and see where they are personally and professionally. Individuals like myself who enjoy your publication would appreciate that type of continuity and thoroughness.
